Heather Mansfield is the founder of the Nonprofit Tech for Good blog and author of the best-selling books Mobile for Good and Social Media for Social Good. Over the last 13 years, she’s grown a following for @nonprofitorgs on social networks to more than one million and presented over 100 in-person social media and online fundraising trainings throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Southeast Asia. In addition, she’s presented over 500 webinars thus training more than 250,000 nonprofit, NGO, and charity staff worldwide.Heather was honored as a “Fundraising Star of the Year” by Fundraising Success Magazine in 2009 and was placed on Twitter’s Suggested User List from 2010 to 2012. She was also named one of TIME Magazine’s Best Twitter Feeds of 2013 and currently serves as an Ambassador for the Public Interest Registry. Heather also writes and produces the Global NGO Technology Report and the Global Trends in Giving Report.

Was the primary contact for all nonprofits applying to use Change.org for online fundraising and e-advocacy. Responsibilities included customer service, training and customer retention. Presented weekly "How-To" webinars to nonprofits. Published a bi-monthly how-to e-newsletter. Blogged Change.org success stories and tutorials on a weekly basis. Presented numerous social media trainings in Washington, DC, Boston, San Francisco, New York and Chicago in 2007 and 2008. Served as a nonprofit consultant to executive staff.

Ensured the quality, consistency and timeliness of Drury’s website content by working with all departments within the university’s organizational structure to coordinate necessary edits and uploads. Initiated web marketing campaigns to attract prospective students and alumni. Launched Drury's social media presence.

Primary responsibility was to develop and implement core marketing messages about IDEX programs in order to educate the U.S. public about grassroots international development and build a committed and consistent donor base. Specific marketing responsibilities included: writing, editing and publishing a bi-annual, 12-page print newsletter as well as monthly email newsletters; managing all aspects of website production and online outreach; and organizing and promoting four events each year, including the IDEX Annual Dinner & Drawing. Specific fundraising responsibilities include: writing, editing and producing direct mail pieces; creating online fundraising campaigns; building the IDEX Sustainer Program; maintaining the donor database; and cultivating major individual donors. Achieved new benchmarks in fundraising and outreach for this position.

Created and launched eActivist.org in order to stimulate civic participation and online activism. A non-profit project of the Tides Center, eActivist.org partnered with over 50 non-profits worldwide, including Environmental Defense, Amnesty International, and World Wildlife Fund. Managed all aspects of website design and maintenance. Published an email newsletter twice monthly and spoke at various conferences throughout the United States. eActivist.org was a fiscally sponsored project of the Tides Center for three years.

Managed registration, audio-visual, and entertainment logistics for BSR’s annual conference in New York City which was attended by over 1,000 business executives from all over the United States.

Traveled with the Lilith Fair Women’s Music Festival to 36 cities throughout the United States over a period of ten weeks. Petitioned and educated thousands of people about Global Exchange’s human rights campaigns. After returning to San Francisco, stepped in as the Interim Assistant Manager/Buyer at the Global Exchange Fair Trade Crafts Store in San Francisco. Successfully mastered all aspects of managerial responsibilities, such as: supervising, hiring, and training a staff of 8; performing all financial administration of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll; and successfully and energetically motivated staff to meet higher sales projections and to educate the public about the principles of fair trade.

Created and taught daily lessons for 22 children based on the necessary educational, nutritional, and hygiene needs common amongst poor children in Guatemala. Launched and managed an international fundraising effort that provided food, medicine, and clothing to over 100 malnourished and impoverished street children.

Primary responsibility was to plan civic journalism workshops, the Annual James K. Batten Awards for Excellence in Civic Journalism, and board meetings. Traveled on a monthly basis throughout the United States to either coordinate Pew Center workshops or to represent the Pew Center at various journalism conferences. Administrative duties included: the maintenance of the database and filing systems; the preparation of travel arrangements for the deputy director; the technical management of all the office computers; and coordinating the logistics of mass mailings.
