I was Bank of America's "expert witness" for MI depositions and negotiation calls. My team wrote and appealed all rescission's, prepared for arbitration, ensured compliance regulations were met and worked with internal and external council. Our focus was on executing forensic work to support the arguments with a focus on compliance, GFE, TIL and licensing on seasoned, rescinded loans. Managed a team of more than 40, reviewed their work and mentored them in writing a thought provoking, strong and impassioned appeal to have our coverage reinstated. Conducted negotiation calls with the MI companies to argue and negotiate reinstatement of coverage on bulks of loans and discussed individual loans. Worked closely with council to educate them on the "why's" of the loans we made historically (2001-2007) and the thought process behind those approvals to better present our case at arbitration. Assisted with creating standards of rescission and appeal with the MI companies that were agreed upon and put in place division wide. We worked through a backlog of files and brought the company up to date maintaining a 90 day window of response to the MI companies. Worked with IT in the implementation of our new systems both for document retention and "LOS". Our division used 54 different programs and systems facilitating everything from the origination to the investigation to support our appeal and document that supporting data. Facilitated weekly team meetings and monthly managed group team meetings. Organized several team fund raising functions and worked with our charitable and volunteer division to help meet the goal of 1 million hours of volunteer hours annually. -
