As an SLA, I'm assigned a caseload of student-athletes to meet with on a weekly basis and develop study strategies that work for them individually. My focus includes the development of a growth mindset, setting and achieving short and long term academic goals, and working to find a balance between and manage the stress of academics and athletics.

Due to the pandemic, this role was a remote one. I worked with a team of faculty members and student leaders to make the transition for incoming students to the University of Massachusetts Amherst as manageable as possible. Duties included hosting Zoom information sessions, Zoom interactive sessions, being part of question and answer panels, calling students and logging calls onto Salesforce, and overall being available to help students in whatever ways possible.
