Hi, I’m Heather Moore - printmaker from The Peacock & The Printmaker.I became a professional artist in 2018 when I sold my first limited edition print and opened up my online shop.Based in Newcastle in my home studio, I am forever inspired by the coastline and nature around me - we are really lucky to have such amazing beaches in the North East. My surroundings feed my passion for creating colourful limited edition Lino prints with high quality papers and oil based inks. In recent years, my focus has been on printing layered coastal artworks in gorgeous blues and greens and lustrous gold. I am a firm believer that colour can enhance your mood so I select colours that will bring joy to your home enabling you to feel at your best so that you can spend quality time with your friends and family.The uniqueness of my work is that it’s how I see the world. The colours I use aren’t necessarily a direct representation of the look of the coast but of how it makes me feel - positive emotions that I’m passing onto you.I aim to operate low waste systems, recycling test prints and misprints into collages rather than sending them to landfill. I also use papers that are 50% cotton and clean my tools using vegetable oil rather than harsh chemicals.Since leaving teaching in 2022 and becoming self employed, I have realised that I am a total workaholic and need to schedule in time for myself. When I’m not working, I enjoy taking strolls on the beach with my family, eating too much dark chocolate and reading.
