After the events of Sep 11, 2001 and the immediate reduction of air travel, Continental Airlines offered a Company Offered Leave of Absence (C.O.L.A.) for any who wanted to take a break. I took them up on the offer and it took effect October 1, 2001. During that time, I worked for a staffing agency October-December 2001. My favorite placement was at a Raytheon parts warehouse. I organized their "lost/misplaced items" section and was a general right-hand help on different projects. In December, I moved to Springfield, MO to spend time with my parents who had just moved there. I got a job at a store called "The Secret Garden". It was a premier wedding dress store that was also known for prom dresses, Red Hat Society hats, Renaissance attire (including a chainmail vest!), and a variety of unique ladies' clothes brands. I worked there from January-May 2002, before moving back to DFW and rejoining Continental later in May 2002.
