Provide analytical support for M&O and R&D department regarding their business functions with a focus on monthly manufacturing activity and performance and strategic direction. Analytical support for M&O includes analysis on COGs, variances, inventory, and overhead allocations. Strategic direction support includes sourcing analysis, manufacturing strategy and investment decisions.Support Site Directors and VP of M&O in the area of cost accounting, strategic analysis and other projects as needed.Responsibilities:• Identify opportunities for margin improvement and provide decision support on strategic initiatives impacting margins for business units.• Conduct activity-based cost analysis to support make vs. buy decisions. Support new product introductions with detailed cost analysis and NPV calculations.• Work with site directors to validate cost savings projects. • Ensure M&O has clearly defined analysis on monthly activities related to materials and production costs, costs of sales, labor and overhead absorption, variance analysis, actual vs. forecast cost analysis, and inventory reconciliations. • Analyses of actual manufacturing costs and preparation of monthly reports comparing forecast costs to actual production costs.• Ad-hoc reporting such as: BOM analysis, raw material absorption, ROI calculations, government/regulatory reporting, inventory and other reserve calculations.• Assist with monthly product line gross margin analysis.• Monthly general ledger analysis to compare actual vs. forecast spending and comparisons to prior periods.• Analysis of inventory valuation and capitalized hours/efficiencies.• Assist with annual cost roll-up and calculation of standard costs.• Partner with M&O personnel to troubleshoot transaction related problems.
