Heather is a veteran with a commitment to excellence in logistics, project management, and leadership.She started her career in the Navy Seabees as an Equipment Operator. She advanced to 2nd Class Petty Officer (E-5) and into a new role as a transportation dispatcher supervising 12 personnel. It is in this role, she learned the complicated logistics that evolve between utilizing equipment for its intended purpose and up keeping the maintenance schedule.As a Project Control Specialist at TVA, she continues to build on her logistics experience by supporting ~75 Area Engineering (AE) personnel throughout the valley and ~150 CADnet personnel. Known as a team player, she does what it takes to get the job done efficiently. Her first of many contributions was to create the AE Sharepoint. This powerful tool centralizes pertinent data making it accessible to all who need it. This tool is utilized every day by the entire organization. After identifying issues with our contract partners, she authored the Contractor Handbook. This handbook outlines a 3 day contract partner orientation covering all aspects of onboarding including obtaining an EIN, to requesting software/permissions, and expectations of their job. Furthermore, she fabricated a template that has since evolved into the foundation for estimating our projects and contract work force. Heather addressed Human Performance shortfalls when she led the development and adoption of the AE Human Performance (HU) toolkit. This simple kit, utilized by all field engineers in the valley, provides them with the tools they need to identify, barricade, and communicate risks that arise during the execution of a project, preventing HU events. Her efforts simplified a seemingly endless string of logistical complexities that arise during the execution of maintenance activities and capital projects.
