Heather Potts Lang is an architect and educator working in the fields of affordable housing, ethical development, and social sustainability. She is the owner of Potts Lang Architects and a guest lecturer in the School of Architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she was the recipient of the 2022 CIOS Award for Student Recognition of Excellence in Teaching. She is a graduate and past Advisory Committee member of the AIA Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program’s Georgia chapter and a participant in the AIA/Georgia Tech mentorship program, where she uses her work to advocate for accessible education and equity in the building professions. A graduate of Georgia Tech’s Master of Architecture program, Heather worked professionally in Brooklyn, New York, before practicing in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been published in Archhive’s book series, Emerging Ideas in Architecture and Design, on topics of sustainable practice and accessibility, and she has had the privilege of speaking to students at the 2022 Equity in Architecture Forum at Georgia Tech about ways to improve architecture education. Having spent much of her career in leadership positions within a male-dominated industry, Heather hopes to be a resource and mentor for young female leaders.
