Responsible for the recruitment of Ambulance Officers, both paid and volunteer in the South Island, Ambulance Communications Staff (111 emergency and non-emergency calls), and Clinical Development. Provide support and advise managers on recruitment best practices.

As part of the centralised Recruitment Team, I was responsible for the recruitment of Allied Health, Scientific, and Technical Professionals across a spectrum of Health disciplines from February 2015 to July 2017 with the support of a Coordinator. Prior to this, I had the responsibility of recruiting to the Corporate and Support Services which could range anywhere from receptionists to service managers, project managers to IT. This has required gaining a understanding of the various professions, qualifications and registrations required in New Zealand. Certified in Strategic Pay job evaluation.

During this time I relocated to New Zealand from the USA. Due to Visa requirements, I was unable to work.

As the only Recruitment Specialist in our small HR team, I had the responsibility of managing the full life cycle recruiting process for various roles that were both clinical and non-clinical in nature. This included Physicians, Social Workers, IT Specialists, Security, Administration, Therapists, Registered Nurses etc. Partnered with hiring managers throughout the organization to develop a recruitment plan to fulfill their recruitment needs. Independently managed the search and selection process, managed the full life cycle of staffing processes which included both networking and pipelining. Scheduling and conducting interviews, pre-employment paperwork and onboarding of new employees. Participated in orientation for new employees. Represented The Watershed at various career expos and addiction industry conferences.

Based within the Human Resources team, I participated in the entire staffing process and teamed with the hiring managers to develop successful working relationships. This required developing an expert understanding of staffing needs and position requirements. Evaluated and made recommendations on applicants on a daily basis to ensure they not only were a fit to the team, but that they complied with all applicable licensing requirements for their specialty, such as Nursing licenses or Physiotherapy registrations. In order to keep track of candidates, I used the program Position Manager, which allowed me to also post jobs vacancies. Coordinated and at times participated in interviews, prepared job offers including salary recommendations and all new employee paperwork. Assisted HR Coordinator in conducting orientation for new employees and working through benefits programs. Acted as HR representative in employee disciplinary meetings and unemployment hearings. Represented the organization at various university/college career fairs and organized open days for those interested in healthcare career opportunities to visit the facility and meet with managers.

Managed a portfolio of Registered Nurses and Surgical Technicians that traveled through the United States on short, 13 week fixed term contracts to various hospitals, covering any staffing gaps.
