The life of a professional musician is diverse, busy and many-faceted. You'll find many listed jobs below that show they are current jobs. This is accurate. A "gigging" musician juggles many jobs to equal a 40-hour (or usually more) week. My strengths lie in teaching, youth conducting, and arranging/composing. I get to do each of these as a church musician, quartet leader, composer and private music instructor.As a quintessential artist I am creative, dabble in many other arts, am an independent leader, enjoy giving constructive feedback to organizations I work with, and am always seeking new opportunities to grow my skills as a musician.A dream job I've yet to fulfill: Conduct a youth orchestra. A hobby I'd like to see veer into "professional": I've written a great many poems, flash fiction, short stories and novelettes. Eventually I'd like to see at least one of these be published in print and be paid. My stories are always written in the genres of fantasy, science fiction or alternate reality.A current job I'd like to see become more successful: Writing symphony music to accompany artist Cory Chisel was a lot of work. It took nearly a year to go through the whole process. When finished the experience was so inspiring that I believe I would enjoy, and do very well, doing similar composing/arranging for other artists in the recording industry.
