As the Director of Content and Digital Operations, I led the foundation’s content creation and digital engagement efforts, starting with a six-part series documenting my mother’s journey from caregiver to patient. This series identified healthcare barriers and delays, offering recommendations to improve access and reduce wait times. • Content Strategy and Digital Outreach: I expanded my role to oversee content management, social media strategy, and digital outreach aimed at building community engagement and raising awareness of pancreatic cancer. I developed resources, crafted compelling stories, and managed ongoing campaigns aligned with our mission. • Website Operations and SEO: Managed all website operations within Ghost CMS, covering content, design, and technical upkeep. I implemented structured data and knowledge graphs to enhance search visibility and meet Google’s rich result requirements, ensuring optimized discoverability. • Research and Fact-Checking: Created resources for newly diagnosed patients in smaller provinces, addressing challenges in accessing care. This involved rigorous fact-checking and direct engagement with government agencies, NGOs, and charities to confirm support options available to Canadians. • Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy Planning: Engaged with directors and researchers behind initiatives crucial to expanding clinical trial access and advancing somatic testing for pancreatic cancer nationwide. These discussions provided insights into their goals and timelines, helping us determine strategic points to advocate for government commitment to short- and long-term solutions. • Foundation Incorporation and Mission Alignment: Oversaw the foundation’s incorporation, ensuring digital assets reflected our advocacy objectives for systemic change in cancer care.In this role, I combined strategic content development with digital operations, supporting the foundation’s mission to drive awareness and improve cancer care in Canada.
