Pieces were designed to create empathy with the viewer and motivate them to call in a donation to the Telethon. Subjects were both children and adults, including those who were not able to communicate verbally. Production included interviewing guests, creating shot sheets, logging tape, writing stories and supervising edits.. Annually produced 11 Live Segments ranging in length from 20 minutes to 90 minutes. Included writing rundowns, arranging live guests, directing talent, communicating with directors and adapting to developing stories. Increased Telethon pledges through motivating stories and live appeals. Annual pledges ranged from $200,000 to $250,000 making the local show one of the highest local Telethons in the country. Created and produced stories used at fundraising dinners: • Pieces were designed to motivate guests to donate money for MDA summer camp or MDA research programs. • Videos enhanced the fundraising dinner , raising between $20,000 and $70,000 depending on dinner and number of guests.
