Manage a variety of marketing projects focused on promoting specific SPIE events. I work with several different internal and external stakeholders to execute print, email, web, and advertising opportunities in a timely manner.

I oversaw the company's marketing activities including everything from alignment with company direction to helping staff with project execution and reporting results to company leadership. I managed a four-person team on-site and a sister company's two-person marketing team located in Nebraska. Under my management, the department launched several new, successful campaigns while managing a shrinking budget. Successful initiatives included: updating collateral to realign messaging while reducing budget by 25% and introducing email marketing, social media marketing and webinars to increase the company's perceived value in the education marketplace.

I oversaw all aspects of company attendance at educational trade shows, which included the management of a two-person team. As manager, I oversaw an average of 200+ trade shows and 100+ sponsorship projects annually, while balancing new company directives, sales needs and a series of budget reductions.

As a coordinator, I provided support for company attendance at educational trade shows. I personally handled logistics for up to 200 trade shows and 100 sponsorships each year and reported event information and results to management as needed. The position also further developed my ability to quickly respond to internal and external customers with a positive attitude, while maintaining multiple, overlapping projects.

This temporary, seasonal position followed docket instructions to help customers create a custom title page for their school handbook. Tasks included typesetting, paste-up and simple text and graphical placement using QuarkXPress.

I launched a public relations campaign, which resulted in three national magazine placements within six months, worth $5,000. My tasks included marketing strategy, involvement in photoshoots, database maintenance, website development and advertising design.

As an intern, I created and distributed a weekly press release, announced volunteer opportunities over the radio each week, wrote articles and provided layout assistance for a monthly newsletter, wrote and edited a Medical Awareness Handbook, created and mailed invitations for an annual recognition event and assisted at other community events. Although the internship was from June - September, I volunteered and was assigned to assist the new intern from September through December.

North Puget Sound Area, Wa

I worked as a seasonal, summer crew member during my last two years of college. This manual labor job helped me develop skills in understanding tidal lands, identifying and removing noxious weeds, mixing and applying herbicides, operating and maintaining machinery and following state guidelines and regulations. The position also provided character building, team building and alignment with my college concentration in Environmental Studies.

Camano Island, Wa

I was recruited to the semi-private golf course staff while playing high school golf. I started with cleaning duties around the pro shop, driving range and golf carts. I quickly worked up to deli staff and assisting with catering events. Eventually, I worked in the pro shop and those duties included maintaining tee times, running tournaments, pricing and arranging retail merchandise, supervising cleaning staff, handling daily cash flow and opening or closing the building. Due to my familiarity with the game, I also drove the snack cart while fulfilling the role of course Marshall.
