I taught Journalism students how to write broadcast copy, create wraps, voicers, actualities and feature reports for radio. I introduced them to the tools and techniques for gathering good-quality audio and for conducting interviews for use on the radio and online. I also introduced them to the Burli newsroom content management system and showed them how to effectively use the software to edit audio, create original content, build a newscast, etc. Throughout the course, I also taught them how to find their voice and build their confidence to anchor a newscast, as well as how to develop proper mic techniques and use the recording booth to record their voices. These college students also learned best practices of radio or audio and discussed the value of different types of sound-voice, natural sound and music to produce compelling audio reports. They also learned to develop critical listening skills.

I worked as a TV correspondent for On the Bright Side and Outburst for eight seasons. I also contributed to some episodes of Campaign Politics during the 2015 federal election campaign, doing interviews and producing profiles about political candidates and providing background on various federal ridings. I researched, wrote and produced segments that air nationally on CPAC. As a correspondent, I interviewed hundreds of luminaries, politicians, experts and delegates at special events, policy and leadership conventions and in electoral ridings across Canada. For On the Bright Side, I created content that provides a window on Canadian Parliament, history, politics and public affairs issues.
