About Heather Seely

Wanting to be nourished by food knowledge as much as possible, I have spent the past 15+ years immersed in a variety of educational capacities and professional roles that have allowed me to comprehend the connections between planetary and human health. I have been a gardener, a farmer, an activist, a thinker, a planner, a manager, a seller, an educator, and most importantly, a conscious eater. It started with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and a shift in personal eating behaviors. Then, it quickly developed into a greater understanding of the interactions between humans, the food we consume, and the environmental and social impacts of these choices.From production to retail, I have experienced all facets of the food sector. I am well-versed in what makes a food system accessible, secure, equitable, and sustainable. The completion of my Master's Degree in Environment (Sustainable Food Systems) provided great insight into food policy and how governments shape our food system. It further prepared me for a role in program management, NGO work, sustainability planning, and environmental education. With an ultimate goal to incite shifts in consumption and behaviors to those that are more in line with a just world—both socially and environmentally—I welcome any opportunity in which this drive can be tailored to fill an organization's needs.
