Heather Wetzel is a born and raised Floridan, currently an Emergency Dispatcher for the SeaWorld Orlando Security team. She is highly talented in emergency coordination, documentation, and multi-tasking, all while ensuring their guests' and ambassadors' safety and wellbeing. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Anthropology. While attending school, she was working full-time in the Hospitality industry at SeaWorld Orlando. Starting in the Operations department, where she had the daily opportunity to increase her customer service and management skills. Throughout Heather’s SeaWorld career, she had different roles and titles that ultimately allowed her to become a supervisor for one-third of all park operations, increasing her knowledge and skill set of remaining calm under pressure, confidential communications, training, scheduling, and team development. Due to her strong perseverance and leadership style, she was awarded a highly valued role of Security Dispatcher, where her hands-on experience translated effectively to the inner workings behind the scenes. She has been able to tackle many daily challenges as well as help build and execute new policies & practices.
