Medical Assistant
Current- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies. Ensure all treatment rooms are cleaned and stocked at end of workday- Review patient history, chief complaint, medications, and patient understanding of procedures, and make notes in EMA- Ensure MIPS information is consistently and accurately completed in the medical record- Assist with scheduling of patient's tests and treatments- Assist dermatology providers during in-office procedures such as biopsies, electrodesiccation and curettage, and cosmetic dermatology procedures- Support front desk by scheduling patients and communicating with patients via telephone and Klara- Check expiration dates on medications and samples, maintaining records of date checks- Keep biopsy book, slides, and pathology reports up to date, and recording results in patient charts- Process prescription refills in accordance with established procedures. Ensure authorization for prescriptions as needed- Submit prior authorizations and communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, and patients as needed- Consistently demonstrating responsibility in managing the pathology and culture log- Remove sutures
