Heath Prince, PhD, is a research scientist and the Ray Marshall Center’s director. Dr. Prince holds a B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Colorado, Boulder, an MPA in Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin, where he focused on labor policy, and an MA and PhD in Social Policy from Brandeis University’s Heller School of Social Policy and Management. His dissertation research focused on measuring the drivers of change in multidimensional poverty in developing countries. Dr. Prince has over fifteen years’ experience in the education and workforce development fields as a researcher, project manager, policy analyst, and evaluator. As Director of the Ray Marshall Center, Dr. Prince serves as principal investigator on multiple research projects involving statistical analyses of administrative records data on education and the labor market. Dr. Prince has also designed impact evaluations on numerous projects measuring the effects of pro-poor interventions, both domestically and internationally. Dr. Prince is the principal investigator on an SRHR project in Northern Jordan, and on a project for the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development, examining post-Arab Spring social policy related to youth unemployment. He is also the principal investigator on projects evaluating Nuru International's interventions in Ethiopia and Kenya, and is co-principal investigator on a project providing TA for the Glimmer of Hope Foundation's M&E work in Ethiopia. Dr Prince has also assisted in coordinating a team of hydrologists and volunteers in the rehabilitation of a water treatment plant in Cevicos, Dominican Republic, where he has volunteered at a health clinic since 2009. His research into multidimensional poverty and youth employment has led to invited conference presentations in Peru, Cameroon, Lebanon, and South Africa.
