Develop and implement plans for financial budgeting and reporting for medical/academic departments of the Dell Medical School. Manage departmental financial processes including transition to the new ERP (Workday). Review departmental funding and budgets with department chairs and assist with future budgets/forecasts. Make recommendations to the Department Chairs, and managers regarding budget actions, as well as initiatives for cost efficiency and continuous improvement. Develop and present performance analytics for the department and clinical faculty. Partner with hospital affiliate to collect and present hospital performance metrics. Ensure proper and efficient application of grant funding by department and account.

Manage the day-to-day financial activities for the Central Business Office’s (CBO) customers, including ITS, OTS, Marketing and Creative Services, and the Dell Medical School; these activities consist of accounts receivables, collections, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, as well as serving as the point of contact for finance-related issues for CBO customers. Direct a diverse portfolio of teams, including Payments, Procurement, Reporting, and Inventory, ensuring that the teams were working towards common strategic goals, as well as providing exemplary customer service. Helped develop Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with CBO customers, setting expectations of services and customer support. Assisted with the beginning phases of the UT Shared Services initiative, including data gathering, communication to staff, and round-table discussions with campus constituents; met with the Accenture Shared Services team to discuss the strategic fit and direction of the CBO with relation to Shared Services.

Oversaw the financial operations of the International Office, including preparing and monitoring budgets; reviewing monthly account reconciliations; assisting the Director of Finance and Administration in writing funding proposals; maintaining payables and receivables; supervising and approving travel for faculty and staff; budgeting and approving financial aid and scholarships; producing financial reports; overseeing the financial activities for government contracts and other special programs; and forecasting for start-up programs.
