Industry And Outreach CoordinatorShortscape Film Festival Aug 2024 - PresentUnpaid voluntary role. Joined shortly before the 2024 edition of the festival and, during the lead-up to the festival dates, assisted in the development of industry panels and events to be held as a part of the programme. This included reaching out to industry contacts, both to collaborate on said events, but also to invite potential future festival connections as guests. At the festival itself, collaborated with the team to set up the venue and manage arrivals of attendees, but also was primarily responsible for industry guests and coordinated with the co-directors to host them on-site. Personally hosted a panel with two filmmakers, asking questions prepared ahead of time for the benefit of the attending audience to learn about the filmmakers and their work. Currently working towards further developing the festival's industry connections. -

Administrative AssistantInfinity Artists May 2023 - Dec 2023Edinburgh, Scotland, United KingdomResponsibilities primarily split between email management and client liaison, electronic filing and file organisation, and copywriting and scheduling for social media. Communicated with clients and various organisations including casting agents, theatres, and production companies, arranging for auditions and passing on information to clients including confidential details. Was relied upon to do this at a professional standard with kind, polite, and appropriate communication skills, and made lasting contacts through my talent in this role. Reviewed potential client applications for lead agent, and was trusted to filter out applicants as appropriate, and pass on others to the lead agent for their personal evaluation. Filed emails and documents to an organised folder structure, and undertook several projects during my tenure to tidy certain folders for ease of use. Spent a large amount of this role creating content for social media, particularly to advertise work featuring the company’s clients. This involved writing copy, using software such as Canva and Photoshop to create graphics, and working to an established style guide. Also used social media scheduling tools such as Later to queue and publish material across multiple platforms simultaneously. -
Customer Service AssistantPicturehouse Aug 2022 - May 2023Edinburgh, Scotland, United KingdomWorked in split roles as an usher, kiosk staff, and bartender across my time as a Customer Service Assistant. Largely spent time as a bartender during my tenure due to my skill and aptitude - this involved selling and making a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for customers, barista work such as making a variety of specialty coffees and other hot drinks, preparing toasties and other hot food items and snacks, cleaning the bar area to a high standard for presentation to customers, managing queues during busy periods, as well as managing the expectations of customers while under pressure. As kiosk staff, sold tickets to customers as well as various drinks and snacks, and worked to ensure that the front of house area was clean and tidy to give an appropriate impression to customers. As an usher, cleaned toilets, cinema screens, hallways and other areas, checked physical and electronic tickets, showed customers to their seats when required, and checked screens regularly to ensure the films were playing correctly, and that no customers were using phones or recording devices. -
Front Of House And Box Office AssistantEdinburgh International Festival Aug 2022 - Sep 2022Edinburgh, Scotland, United KingdomWorked as a Front of House team situated at the entrance to Edinburgh International Festival's 'Dreamachine' project. This involved greeting guests, ensuring that they had filled out the health and safety agreements before entering, and then checking and scanning tickets for entry. Once customers had entered, we assisted them in placing their shoes, coats, bags and valuables in lockers, and then officially welcomed them to the experience by passing them along to the Dreamachine experience team. As the experience 'played' in shifts like a cinema, responsibilities also included managing queues of customers entering under time pressure, ensuring that the front of house areas did not become over-crowded or unsafe, chatting with customers while they waited, and generally making sure that they experienced a pleasant atmosphere before entering. Between 'showings', we also assisted customers in booking tickets over the phone, and, for this as well as when scanning tickets, utilised the ticketing and box office system Spektrix. -
Out Of Hours Library AssistantUniversity Of Winchester Jan 2019 - Aug 2021Winchester, England, United KingdomAfter stepping up to a permanent position at Martial Rose Library, I continued my duties of tidying, organising and shelving returned books, as well as assisting students, staff and visitors with their enquiries. However, in this new position I was also trusted to answer customer queries via the official library email, as well as by phone. This eventually reached a level of trust and confidence in me, that, when the library re-opened during the COVID-19 lockdowns, I was asked to staff the library by myself across weekends. During my tenure, I became familiar with the library management system Talis Alto, and eventually the software it was replaced with, Ex Libris Alma. When Alma was introduced, I learned its basic elements so quickly that I was often asked to show certain functions to senior staff. As my time at the library went on, I was also asked to help with ongoing projects, including the clearing of older books from library shelves, which involved checking reading lists to ensure the books were not still needed, finding and removing all copies from the library, and desensitising these from the records, so that they might be donated. -
Enquiries Hub Officer (Graduate)University Of Winchester Jan 2020 - Jul 2020Winchester, England, United KingdomHelped to run the University of Winchester website's live chat, involving the handling of multiple active chats from students, staff and members of the public at the same time, which often meant juggling more than one urgent responsibility simultaneously. Worked initially on-site in the office, then from home due to the COVID-19 lockdowns. Faced challenges such as the strain on student life due to the pandemic, and worked to answer students and prospective students' questions with empathy and understanding. On multiple occasions I was specifically requested by my colleagues to take questions about the Film and Media courses, due to the passion I conveyed to those considering undertaking said courses. Also directly contacted prospective students who had begun to apply to the university, to check if they were still planning to study and if there was anything we could assist with. -
External CleanerUniversity Of Winchester Sep 2018 - Sep 2019Winchester, England, United KingdomBased on university campus, responsible for emptying bins across campus, replacing bin bags and disposing of full ones. Various self-managed tasks included litterpicking, sweeping leaves and responding to other specific messes. Worked individually and with a team in various pairings to accomplish these tasks. -
Casual Library StaffUniversity Of Winchester Jul 2018 - Jan 2019Winchester, England, United KingdomStarted working at Martial Rose Library as part of the casually-contracted Library Staff, taking on cover shifts to staff the front desk and shelve books when required. Most of my shifts were spent assisting students, staff and visitors with enquiries, such as locating books or other library documents, fixing printer or computer issues, even locating classrooms on campus. Otherwise, my time was spent tidying returned books and preparing trolleys of shelving - and then typically shelving these. Over time I took on more and more shifts and came to be known by senior staff at the library, which lead to me interviewing for a permanent position on the team, and successfully receiving this.
