My talk about my work at TEDx Brighton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fEc5v9GLaQ&feature=youtu.beApplying innovative and practical solutions to involving vulnerable people in making real and meaningful choices about the way they live their lives, through to the running of an organisation.I'm passionate about equality and addressing traditional power imbalances to enable marginalised, and often overlooked people, to have a true voice.I'm also an evangelist for thinking 'punk' in work situations, having an idea and implementing it quickly.Stay Up Late is a charity that promotes full and active social lives for people with learning disabilities and we find innovative and practical ways to create meaningful opportunities for inclusion through:- Advocacy, enabling people with learning disabilities to know their rights- Campaigning, working with support providers to find creative ways to provide personalised and flexible support- Influencing - working with commissioners to develop ways of designing services to meet needs of individuals- Action - creating opportunities through activities such as our Kiss My Disco club night collaborations with Freshtrack DJ workshops- Inspiring - showing what amazing work people with learning disabilities are capable of when given the opportunity through projects like our Wild Things compilations; showcasing music made by people with learning disabilities from around the world- Volunteering - creating practical and meaningful inclusion through our Gig Buddies project
