Heba is the research and innovation officer at the European Union Delegation to Egypt. She contributes to the conception, elaboration and implementation of relevant EU-Egypt research and innovation cooperation agreements, strategies, programmes and activities.

Heba was a senior consultant at Innovety LLC. She has more than 10 years of international operational and academic experience across multiple industries. The first part of Heba’s career was in Chemonics Egypt, a branch of Chemonics International, a leading consulting firm based in Washington D.C. that provides engineering management services. Heba led several consulting contracts spanning multiple sectors.Heba later joined Eni E&P Egypt, multinational oil and gas company as an environmental and planning specialist where she headed the implementation of Eni’s integrated environmental management systems. At the University of Waterloo, Canada, heba worked a research associate for four years. During her Doctoral studies, Heba has worked with world-renowned experts on research topics that include: developing organization capabilities & competences, strategic orientation of organizations, international entrepreneurship, and technology transfer and knowledge management. In particular, Heba has researched the influence of inflows of technology and international entrepreneurship on building capabilities underlying export performance of Egyptian manufacturing SMEs. She focused on the role of a firm’s strategic orientation in the creation of innovation capabilities.Heba holds a Chemical Engineering Degree from Cairo University, a Masters in Local Economic Development from the University of Waterloo in Canada, and a PhD in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo with a concentration in Management of Technology and International Entrepreneurship.
