I participated in the iGEM competition as a team member of the UANL_Mty-Mexico team and as PI of the CIDEB-UANL_Mexico High School team, getting twice the 2nd Runner Up prize at Highschool Level during 2012 and 2013. I had the opportunity to organize international events such as the International Congress of Genomic Biotechnology, GENOBIOTEC13 in Monterrey, Mexico, being part of the Genomic Biotechnology Students Association from my university. This congress was one of the largest synthetic biology events in my country to date. I also organized and designed the traveling exhibitions for biotechnology and synthetic biology dissemination "Tunnel of Synthetic Biology" and "Rotunda of Genomic Biotechnology", which brought more than 20,000 people of all ages, both in the metropolitan area of ​​Monterrey and beyond to applied biotechnology issues.This is how I discovered my passion for science teaching, which is why I had the opportunity to participate as an advisor in the Science Teaching Diploma for Teachers organized by the Interactive Science and Technology Center - Horno3 and CINVESTAV Monterrey. I also had the opportunity to organize and present several workshops and courses at universities such as the Tecnológico de Monterrey on different campuses, the UANL and the IPN, the Zamorano school in Honduras and the ESPE, ESPOCH and the University of San Francisco in Ecuador. I belonged to the international Youth Biotech society that participated as a delegate of the Public Research and Regulation Initiative (PRRI) in the United Nations Conference on Biodiversity COP-MOP8 in 2016.Currently I am about to finish my PhD in communication and educational innovation, since my experience was mainly focused on the dissemination and scientific education. As part of my activities, I participated in the RedPop Congress focused on the dissemination of science in Panama City in 2019 as a representative of the iGEM Foundation, and recently, I was the After iGEM Latin American ambassador coordinator in 2021, focused on the formation of new teams participating in the iGEM synthetic biology competition. I am currently developing educational modules of experimentation in biotechnology for young people in Scintia, a startup focused in make synthetic biology more accessible; as well as the iGEM Academy Educational Designer for iGEM Design Leagues.Much of my interest is in scientific dissemination, the development of responsible science and research mainly in the area of ​​biotechnology applied to synthetic biology.
