I taught daily pre-school classes to children aged 2-5 at this foster home for disabled orphans in the countryside outside Beijing. New Hope works in partnership with state-run Chinese Welfare Institutes across the country to care for children whose medical needs require complex surgery, arranging this through partnerships with doctors and hospitals across the region, enabling the children’s conditions to be managed within adoptive families, giving them hope for a life outside institutions.

I ran the combined head office for the two leading UK business associations in China, leading a team of 70, managing multiple government & commercial stakeholders, serving 900 member companies, driving membership generation and value delivery. I taught History to 11-18 year-olds in Oxford’s most diverse state school including GCSE & A-level qualifications, achieving exam results up to 35% above the school and departmental average. I worked with students applying to the most competitive universities to craft their application essays and prepare them for admissions interviews. I also led curriculum enrichment activities including a Holocaust Memorial Trust project.
