As an architect my interest is in understanding how old buildings work, the best ways to conserve and repair them, and how to adapt them to new uses. I design new buildings within historic precincts, develop master plans for larger sites and make existing spaces comfortable for living in today’s world. I work on large and small buildings, for public and private clients. My work includes university colleges, city buildings, churches, halls, rural homesteads, child care centres, apartment blocks, waterfront mansions and semi-detached homes. Australia has a vibrant architecture of new building. To this I am adding an architecture of design to places that are old and mature.
