Physician trained Medical School graduate with professional and extensive experience in diverse fields ranging from Medicine, Biochemistry and Wildlife Biology. Research was conducted on the stress response of extremophiles. The specific objective of this project was two-fold; 1) Learn about the viruses from extreme environments. 2) Understand Sulfolobus solfataricu's response to stress. Conducted preliminary research of scientific literature in order to determine what is already known and what is not known about S. solfataricu's response to stress in order to refine the hypothesis and provide an original contribution to science. Conducted proteomic analysis in order to examine hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) induced oxidative stress in S. sulfataricus. Used two-dimensional differential gel electrophoresis (2D-DIGE) experiments to measure differential protein abundance.Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. Clinical rotations in the United States and Mexico. Intern Biologist at Arizona Game and Fish, responsible for leading a two-man team during occupancy plot surveys on Flat Tailed Horned Lizards. Responsible for operating and maintaining radio communication with Game and Fish headquarters and Marine Corps Air Station while conducting field operations at Barry M. Goldwater bombing range. Hydrology Tech intern with the United States Geological Survey. Worked with in teams with hydrology technicians to collect data from the Colorado River and interstate canals using various stream gauging instruments. Worked alongside and cooperated with other federal organizations (International Boundary and Water Commission).
