Hector Ramirez is a first-generation college graduate. He earned his B.S. in Leadership and Human Resource Development at Louisiana State University in 2022. He was the youngest degree recipient from his graduating class. During undergrad, Hector concurrently maintained many organizing roles within the education nonprofit sector. He has held a seat on the Communities In Schools of South Central Texas's Alumni Board since 2020. As a Board Director, he has planned and facilitated numerous events related to professional and post-secondary educational development. In college, Hector also worked with the Help Us Grow Foundation as their first Director of Human Resources, where he led recruiting and training operations for the organization.After Graduation, Hector joined Teach For America and currently serves as a second-grade teacher within South San Antonio ISD. Hector also currently works alongside Communities In Schools on the local and national level. He has since served as a paid public speaker for the C.I.S. national office and continues to develop young adult engagement opportunities for C.I.S. within their San Antonio and South Central Texas affiliates.
