As a College Access Manager and Strategy Consultant, I leverage my expertise in college access and persistence. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Affairs, and Spanish from UC Davis, and a Master of Education degree in Educational Counseling from USC.My passion for education and social justice stems from my own experience as a low-income and first-generation student who faced many barriers and challenges in accessing higher education. I have dedicated my career to promoting college access and readiness for underrepresented and historically marginalized populations, through organizing, activism, and mentoring. I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and levels, from junior high to graduate school, providing them with guidance, resources, and support to achieve their academic and professional goals. I have also developed and implemented educational programs and initiatives that foster a culture of equity, inclusion, and empowerment among students and their communities. Some of my achievements include increasing the college acceptance rate of my students by 35%, securing resources from college access programs, and creating a network of alumni mentors for current students. I believe that every student deserves an opportunity to pursue their dreams and aspirations, regardless of their circumstances or identity. I approach my work with a student-centered, social justice, and equity-minded perspective, that values and validates the experiences and voices of my students. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where my students can express their personal and professional selves, and where they can connect and receive support from each other. I am committed to continuing to serve my students and my community with passion, dedication, and excellence.
