I'm an analyst with a keen interest in examining how macroeconomic trends, economic policy and financial markets influence one another. I possess outstanding research, data collection and writing skills which have enabled me to investigate and generate analyses of complex economic issues. One of my greatest talents is to bring together valuable pieces of information disseminated by other authors. Similarly, I’m a proficient user of databases including FRED, Trading Economics and Bloomberg.My intellectual curiosity has driven me to scrutinize geopolitical events that affect the global economy and to rigorously explore topics such as the Great Recession and its causes or the Eurozone and the imbalances between core and peripheral countries. I've also given prominence to studying the success stories of nations that have attained long-lasting institutional and economic development. Undoubtedly, my passion is to utilize my “detective” abilities to produce meaningful economic research. Some of my texts have been published by the NCPA and have been featured on Real Clear Policy’s site. I also created my own website (www.hectorcolon.weebly.com) to share and display my research.I recently received a Master’s degree in International Political Economy.
