As a participant of the Quinnipiac News Network class with Professor Ben Bogardus, I rotate through producing, anchoring, live reporting, writing and editing a live weekly newscast. I collaborate with a group of 15 other student journalists and I evaluate my own performance alongside the professor.

During my time at News 8 I shot b-roll, interviews, recorded my own stand ups and teases, wrote packages and recorded voice-overs. I also pitched story ideas at editorial meetings and wrote web stories that were published to the WTNH website under my byline.

As News Editor for the campus newspaper, I was responsible for editing and assigning weekly stories to writers. I enjoyed assigning word counts and deadlines for those stories, staying in contact with writers throughout the week, teaching new writers how to conduct an efficient and successful interview and how to format journalistic articles. In laying out the news section with InDesign, I decided which articles were most newsworthy and deserving of a spot on the cover.
