- Started cleaning the floors, bathroom and shelves, mowed the lawn and washed the delivery cars.- A few months into the job started to check in freight, deliver parts, and do warehouse runs.- After about six months started to gradually answer the phones and find parts for customers.- Two years into the job I received my first promotion/raise. I started to wait on customers not only over the phone but in person also.- In 2010 we moved the store from one building to another. During this time I really stepped up and took charge, because the manager was busy dealing with other things during the move. I made sure that all of the deliveries got out on time and helped all the customers as fast as possible..- Three years in I started to maintain all of the delivery cars, i.e change oil, change wiper blades, and head/tail lights.- In 2011 people came down to take stock of our entire inventory. Again, I took charge and stepped up when the manager was helping the people with the inventory.- Year five I was promoted to Assistant Manager. Was in charge of opening and closing on weekends, closing the register and running the day's end. At times it would just be me and another employee at the store.- Received another raise the same year.- By the end of my career at Car Quest I was doing almost everything. I wasn't afraid to take on challenges when customers would bring in hard to find parts.
