Heidee Lyn Alsdorf is a dance-theatre artist from Northwest Arkansas. Heidee holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and an MFA in Physical Theatre from Accademia dell’Arte (IT/DE/CZ). They are a somatic practitioner with a certificate in Embodied Social Justice from Transformative Justice and certification in Dry Massage Therapy from Oligenesi (IT). Heidee’s artistic work is largely defined by collaborative, sight-specific performance art. Their approach to performance making assumes that cultivating conditions for strong social and personal experiences is the path to devising excellent works of art. Heidee considers herself an inter-dependent dance artist as what she does necessitates collaboration. She is inspired by concert and site-specific dance as well as masked theater, mime, music, poetry, architecture, theories of evolution, somatic experiencing and semiotics. In their artistic journey, they orient toward inclusivity and care, facilitating creative processes that are diligently structured for agency and open dialogue. Heidee’s dance-making is a deliberate act of culture-making toward collectively held visions of an equitable world.They have had the privilege of creating works with Flyover Dance Collective (USA), Novel Creative Movement (USA), TeeBoDans (USA), Broken Jump Theatre (IT), Spazio Seme (IT), and several independent choreographers such as Giorgio Rossi and Isabel Lewis. They have presented dance at Collaborative Arts Lab (IT), Creative Spaces NWA (USA), CACHE Studios (USA), TheaterSquared (USA), Arkansas Arts Academy (USA), CRISISArts Festival (IT), and Spettatori Erranti La Festa (IT). Heidee is a 2023-24 recipient of the Artist 360 Community Activator Award through Mid America Art Alliance.
