About Heidi Andersen
In 2022, I began tele-serving with AmeriCorps as a mentor and STEM event facilitator as well as remotely tutoring mathematics and test prep on a freelance basis at all grade levels. I completed my AmeriCorps work in September 2022, and I continue to teach and tutor in mathematics, writing, and test prep. I was employed before this as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the American International University in Kuwait, where I taught Calculus I, Calculus II, and College Algebra.Before that, I was employed as an adjunct Assistant Teaching Professor with the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiaotong University Joint Institute, for which I taught Calculus I and II and Discrete Math remotely.Before that, I worked for six semesters (3 years) beyond my graduate degree as a full-time teaching professional at the University of Dallas, where I worked actively to practice student-centered teaching methods and integrate them into my practice. The course load was 3/3, and I taught 10 distinct courses up and down the undergraduate mathematics curriculum.
