Over 2021, I worked as an Android developer on the Capital One Mobile Banking app for Android within the Virtual Cards team. I researched and learned Kotlin independently while onboarding into an extensive legacy codebase. I was able to leverage Kotlin and Javascript to update functions, add new features and security, route API networking calls, and implement Figma UI. I did this while integrating into a multi-team environment to execute visually consistent mobile development across platforms. It was great experience learning a new skill for a team working with business timelines and a larger product environment.

Over the 2020 summer, I worked as a Virtual Software Engineering Intern at Capital One. I helped extend the core document repository for over 45 million documents within their Small Business Technology department. I worked with another intern to implement additional features within the upload, search, and edit capabilities for internal department requirements. The data is stored with an Alfresco Database backend that utilizes microservices while being hosted on an AWS EC2 instance. For our project, we primarily worked with our Java SpringBoot API that interfaced with the Angular UI made of Typescript and Javascript. I had a great time working with this team and learning more about web-development including entitlements, catalogs, and the Angular framework. I'm grateful to have enjoyed my summer and experience the virtual work environment in these changing times. From this summer I gained remote working skills in communication and productivity as well as technical skills in development.

Over the 2019 summer, I used Material Design, Node.js, Express, Postgresql, and AWS Relational Database Services to create a Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance control tool. I studied audit operations, ITGC processes, and UI architecture while working with local and remote professionals to blueprint plus enhance the purpose and user experience of the tool.

Over the summer of 2018, I participated as one of 25 interns in Rockwell Collin's Summer Engineering Projects Program. I used C++ and Python to modify company flight management software for a semi-autonomous fixed wing drone. I worked with three teammates to explore the possibility of transforming the existing software into a civilian commercial product. My team and I worked with two other teams to integrate each of our experimental projects onto one physical system. Our team used Agile to delegate work to meet summer deadlines. And at the end of the summer, we displayed our work to company executives through a final presentation and written report.

In June of 2017 I participated in TechPoint's nonprofit Xtern Bootcamp Internship. Techpoint's mission is to help guide Indianapolis into becoming the MidWestern Tech hub. Their Xtern programs are aimed at developing STEM talent and connecting them with local companies. For three weeks I learned different concepts and features within Javascript, HTML, CSS and React JS. Our main focus was understanding the components and foundation of React JS.
