I was the link between medical providers in Seattle and South King County and the Pacificare/Secure Horizons medical management team. Each day I processed extremely high volumes of medical services requests, authorizing those within my authority and triaging those that required medical review after ensuring the proper documentation had been submitted by the provider's office. I worked closely with co-workers in the Clinical Mangement division and with the medical directors. I also accompanied members of the Provider Services department out into the medical community to help explain the authorization process to newly contracted offices or new staff members.
