Here we go again. :) To be honest I was a bit hesitant if I want to work within sourcing anymore - it felt a bit like I've seen it all. But then EKE came along, and I though why not. Great opportunity to exploit all the experience I have. So: we will build processes, minimize risks, make sure we have all the needed agreements in place and make sure the organisation is happy on how purchasing is handled. Great (and quite a lot) work ahead.

Member of company steering group and also member of customer co-operation at Aurora Tornio site. I was so happy to be part of a small company, nearly a start-up. We had a team a bit more than 20 workers and the company itself has been alive since 2014. I had great opportunity to be defining the ways of working in new company and creating the network and value chains to get the best out of the business. Quite rapidly the value chain really started to deliver some value, we invested 50 MEUR per year at Kilpilahti site and both sites rolled quite nicely in terms of operating and maintenance, which also were heavily dependent on suppliers. Aurora, or Aurora Infrastructure Oy, is an infrastructure platform investing in strategic electricity distribution networks in the Nordics. Aurora’s current portfolio includes network in Tornio serving Outokumpu’s ferrochrome and stainless steel plant as well as network in Porvoo serving the largest Nordic chemical concentration located there. Learned a lot of IPR-rights and how to handle those from the purchaser's point of view.Also negotiated tens of frame agreements for engineering. New position in large organisation. Always a nice opportunity, right? Creating processes, getting grip on something that was no-one's responsibility before, building trust between purchasing and R&D&I. This is where I started my career. Buying pistons, liners and gearwheels. Handling daily issues with suppliers such as ordering and issuing 12 months forecasts. Making sure that production has components needed. Great cooperation with production and suppliers. Great start all in all.

The aim for my thesis was to find out reasons for delivery reliability lower than wanted at Vaasa factory.
