We were one of 4 elementary schools chosen in the state of Georgia. While in the position it was my responsibility to work with the state education department and implement the 21st Century Learning Project at our school. I had to research products that would be most beneficial for our school setting, recruit the participating teachers, work with the PTA to coordinate expectations and demonstration nights. Set up a timetable of when the project would start and complete. Provide training for the teachers. Created opinion surveys for teachers, parents, and students. I worked with the teachers on lesson planning, and modeling teaching within the project. Maintained a database of the way in which the devices were being used. The information that I collected was used to write the grant for year two. We were one of two elementary schools that were awarded the grant for the second year. I expanded the project from three classrooms to 6 classrooms through the grant. Our school PTA matched the state grant and added an additional 6 classrooms. During year two I organized continued training for the teachers, maintained the usage database and made it accessible to all teachers. I continued to provide support in planning and modeling in integrating and modeling technology. I worked with PTA to recruit business partners and we "adopted" a sister-school in which we helped them set up 21st century classrooms through Title 1 funds and business partners. Year three of the project no money came from the grant, but through our PTA and business partners we were able to set up the whole school with 21st century technology. The project completed in the school year 2007-2008 with our whole school designated as a 21st Century School, all teachers had been trained on the technology, and were continuing to add to the "Cool Tech Tool" database.
