Research Manager and Head of the research team Polymer Particles and Surface Chemistry at SINTEF Materials and Chemistry . Present research activities include the preparation and characterisation of micro- and nanoparticles by various technologies and from a wide variety of materials, as well as the surface modification of polymers and polymer particles by wet-chemistry. Lately, focus has been on the encapsulation and immobilisation of liquids and solids from emulsions, as well as on coating of polymers, metals and ceramic materials of various shapes by self-assembling methods and covalent attachment of biocompatible, biomimetic and functional coatings. There is special focus on applied research and product orientated solutions. Fields of special interest are the emerging fields of nanomedicine, as well as application of encapsulation technologies and controlled release in various industrial segments, e.g. medicine, cosmetics, house-hold and body care products, food and beverages, agriculture, etc.
