Heidi Martinez is the System Director of Medical Staff Services and Payer Enrollment for Astria Health, located in Central Washington. She manages two Medical Staff Specialists and two Provider Enrollment Specialists for an Acute Care Hospital, a Critical Access Hospital, nine Rural Health Clinics, and an Ambulatory Surgical Center. She has streamlined the Medical Staff Office in two years and transitioned Payer Enrollment from outsourced to in-house. She is an extroverted, intuitive, visionary person and enjoys working with a diverse team that interests and inspires her. She is team-oriented and builds off the energy of others with her contagious enthusiasm. Challenges are essential ingredients for her professional motivation.Heidi has been a volunteer leader in the Washington Association Medical Staff Services (WAMSS) since she began her MSP career in 2009. She is currently the Strategic Planning Chair and has held other leadership roles, from President to Conference Planning Chair. In 2019, Heidi won the prestigious WAMSS Inspirational Commitment to the Organization award. Additionally, she has volunteered in National Association Medical Staff (NAMSS) work groups. She recently finished her Associate of Arts degree and will transfer into a Bachelor’s program in Healthcare Management. During her pursuit of the AA, she has made the President’s list five semesters, holding a 4.0, is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and will graduate with Phi Theta Kappa honors.Heidi’s strengths include creating solutions, discovering new methods and opportunities, conceptualizing new ideas, and leading change. Her vision is to spread her passion for empowering new leaders in the Medical Staff Services and Payer Enrollment field. In her spare time, she enjoys riding the open road to nowhere on her Harley-Davidson Road King.
