I am a nonprofit founder, a storyteller, and a believer in good. I believe in the power of connection to bring people together for a purpose greater than themselves.I believe in communicating powerful stories to inspire others to serve and give.I believe in planting the seeds of compassion in our youth, most specifically to serve. I believe you can not lead unless you serve.I am the Executive Director of the nonprofit TACSC, a youth leadership organization. In this role, I have the privilege of planting that seed of compassion in over 3,000 students a year and revitalizing, rebranding and rebuilding a now forty-year-old nonprofit organization. As a former nonprofit founder (The Spiritual Care Guild at CHLA) I developed expertise in entrepreneurship, Management, relationship building, team building, fundraising, marketing, board development, CRM management, public speaking, and media relations.I led a team of volunteers to build a chaplaincy program that changed the culture of a one-hundred-year-old institution, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Today SCG is a national template of pediatric chaplaincy and has helped build a ten million dollar inter-faith center to support patients, families and staff at CHLA.During this time, I launched a blog and podcast called Charity Matters to tell the stories of other nonprofit founders and their journeys. This ultimately became an exploration in building a community full of inspiring people who are changing the world. Most recently, I put all of these incredible life lessons into my new book: Change for Good: The Transformative Power of Giving as the Ultimate Cure.If you have read this far then you are probably someone I would love to get to know. Please connect because nothing makes me happier than partnering with people who want to make the world a better place.
