Heidi collaborates with Subject Matter Experts to design, develop, and maintain high quality online and hybrid courses at the George Washington University School of Nursing (GWSON). She is a Quality Matters certified Master Reviewer and Online APPQMR and IYOC workshop facilitator. Heidi has supported numerous faculty in preparing for successful Quality Matters course reviews. She is currently working with the team at GWSON to update project management and instructional design practices to support the development of competency-based nursing education courses moving forward.Heidi is a facilitator for the Online Learning Consortium, engaging with participants in topics such as Project Management for Instructional Designers, Essentials for Online Faculty, Developing Interactive Video, and Designing a Liquid Syllabus and she serves as a mentor for participants in the Advanced Instructional Design certificate program. She actively engages in her own professional development. Heidi successfully completed the ID2ID Peer Mentoring Program, a cross-institutional program for Instructional Designers through Penn State University and EDUCAUSE, has presented at numerous national conferences, and is currently pursuing the EDUCAUSE Digital Learning Leaders Institute. The excellence of Heidi's work has been recognized by various institutions including TOPkit (2019 Best in Track award for Planning), the University of South Florida (2021 Incredi-Bull Critical Thinking Faculty Member), and the George Washington University (2023 Impact Award). Heidi initiated and led professional development book clubs for the University of South Florida Learning Design Group, the Quality Matters Instructional Design Association, and the GWSON staff council membership. She continues to teach an online Career Explorations course for State College of Florida.
