* Entered a completely new domain (construction) and built a highly functioning, engaged team while building respect and regard of my peers and the CEO. Within the first three months, wrote a new vision statement for the company that motivated both existing and prospective employees.* Developed a clear, relevant brand platform and activated it through collateral, internal and external storytelling and public appearances (including my own).* Supported revenue growth while reducing expenses; shrunk my budget to enable greater enterprise investment in training and development.* Produced a refreshed five-year company strategy that the whole executive team could support and see themselves in. * Bridged journalistic and business-oriented endeavors. Launched digital products that aligned news/reader interests with sales/advertiser interests and helped the company strengthen its digital product-development capacity - essential in a rapidly changing media realm. Partnered with Marketing, Research, Communications, Sales and Operations to expand the news portfolio and set and implement strategy.* Parachuted into The Times' advertising department and convened a team to conceive of and launch four specialty publications based on the work of several cross-functional teams who felt these could provide needed new vehicles for revenue. Launched them all on schedule to much acclaim. Got the job done by including a cross-functional team of talent.* In four months, proposed and led development of Husky football and basketball iPhone apps and built The Times’ capacity to deliver mobile products. Extensively used market data (Ipsos, Qualtrics, ComScore, etc.) to drive this and other product strategy.* Built external partnerships and led internal development to release e-reader and mobile offerings and an online recommendation engine for a total of more than $300K in new annual revenue.* Increased community engagement, working with partners to host public events and forums.* Grew revenue by hundreds of thousands of dollars through content resales.

* Drove technical, structural and process changes to transform the business. Led 50 technical and creative staffers and eight managers.* Oversaw four budgets totaling nearly $4 million per year and capital projects that ranged from $25K to millions of dollars.

Implemented under budget and ahead of schedule in order to produce the newspaper during a strike, ensuring continuity for both the business and for readers.
