Lead the Division of Infectious Diseases, overseeing the Communicable Disease and Immunization sections, as well as the State Public Health Veterinarian. Manage a team of approximately 75 staff members, focusing on strategic planning, program oversight, and administrative functions, including hiring, audits, and grant management.

Led strategic public health initiatives to address critical issues in Illinois, including serving as the Principal Investigator for the First Responders-Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Grant, addressing opioid use statewide. As one of IDPH’s subject matter experts on opioids, provided guidance and resources to reduce overdose deaths. Directed the implementation of the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP), driving public health priorities for Illinois through subcommittee leadership, status reporting, and forward planning.Managed key statewide health data programs, including the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), Illinois County Behavioral Risk Factor Survey (ICBRFS), and the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), while supervising the Illinois State Vital Statistician and state demographer. Oversaw the Center for Rural Health, collaborating on initiatives to reduce health disparities in rural communities and representing IDPH on the Governor’s Rural Affairs Council. Additionally, reviewed local health department certifications and legislative policy analyses, providing expert insights and position papers. Direct supervisor of nine staff, supporting their professional growth and program success across IDPH's health data and policy projects.

Department of Surgery, Colorectal Service. Managed staff of five research study assistants, oversaw multicenter rectal cancer study for MSKCC and 21 additional sites, responded to site inquiries, trained staff at multicenter sites in clinical research protocol and electronic data capture procedures, monitored site compliance, remotely audited participating sites, ensured regulatory compliance for service activities, wrote and submitted biospecimen protocols to Surgery Protocol Review Committee and IRB

Queried institutional databases, entered sarcoma patient information into database, trained new staff, managed two research study assistants, supervised summer interns, audited service databases and protocols, created survival curves using SPSS, created participant accrual and research study reports for department, wrote and submitted regulatory paperwork to IRB, managed tissue procurement protocol
