Oversees a team that leads VVMF programs that honor all those who served in Vietnam - including The Wall That Heals, the In Memory program, the Wall of Faces, Echoes of the Vietnam War podcast and all ceremonies and events on site at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

External and internal corporate communications contact for the USA TODAY brand including: USA TODAY, USATODAY.com, USA TODAY Sports, USA TODAY Travel, and USA WEEKEND. • Develop communications strategy and public relations plans for USA TODAY initiatives – both external and internal. Recent examples include USA TODAY’s 30th anniversary and redesign of all products.• Serve as corporate spokesperson for USA TODAY and point of contact for outside media. • Elevate brand awareness and manage messaging for USA TODAY in external print and digital media outlets.• Manage staff of up to two full-time employees as well as interns over last six years.• Develop cross-functional communications programs with other major companies such as National Geographic and CBS News.• Guide production of public relations efforts that include video news releases, satellite media tours, and radio media tours.• Manage communications efforts around Gannett’s annual company-wide volunteering day – Make a Difference Day. Responsibilities include handling all logistics for Gannett’s 200 person volunteer project, photo, video, public relations efforts, satellite media tour, radio pitches and managing national broadcast partner relationship.• Oversee all aspects of press releases including writing, editing, gaining executive approvals and distributing of press releases for the USA TODAY brand.• Manage internal communications to more than 1,000 employees including company-wide messaging and meetings as well as day-to-day communication via USA TODAY’s intranet site.• Work closely with USA TODAY events team on event management handling on-stage content for internal and external events including speeches and remarks for executives.• Direct marketing efforts for the Super Bowl Ad Meter, which is USA TODAY’s largest public relations hit each year. Project includes events as well as national and local television broadcast hits with newsroom staff before and after the game.

• Pitch and manage requests for USA TODAY reporters to appear on national and local television and radio programs. Increased USA TODAY presence on national broadcast news programs and managed cross-promotional media partnerships with major networks. • Pitch and manage requests for USA TODAY reporters and executives to speak at dozens of events each year including industry events and appearances.
