Dr. Woolley is an experienced educator & occupational therapist with 20+ years of clinical and administrative experience in various clinical settings. She graduated with honors in 1994 with her Bachelor of Science in Special Education from BYU with certifications in mild/moderate and severe/profound disabilities. She started her career teaching special education in a junior high school life skills classroom, which led to her interest in pursuing a career in occupational therapy. She earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1998, as well as her post professional OTD in 2009 from the Sargent College of Health Sciences at Boston University.Dr. Woolley’s primary area of clinical practice is outpatient pediatrics and school-based practice. During her work as a school based occupational therapy clinician and administrator she was instrumental in developing and implementing a co-teaching model for OTs and special education teachers in the classroom. She is certified in Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) with the Tourette Association of America, and also has experience providing OT care and services across diverse settings and ages including acute care, out-patient rehabilitation and home health.Prior to working at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, Dr. Woolley was the faculty director of an on-site university clinic where she developed and implemented the multi-faceted Community-based, Education, Research Clinic (CERC) Model to meet the diverse & changing needs of on-site university training. Other key highlights of her career include instituting a working intraprofessional collaboration model into pediatric curriculum between MOT and OTA students, developing a pediatric community client program for MOT & OTA students through a university on-site clinic to enhance experiential learning, and establishing an MOT two-week Level I Fieldwork Experience in collaboration with the MAIR clinic in Marrakesh, Morocco for students to gain experience in conducting needs assessment & occupation-based program development for underserved populations.She has presented at local, state, and national conferences and continuing education programs on a variety of topics.
