About Heidy Narvaez-Ortiz
I received a full scholarship for doctoral studies from the Colombian government. My graduate work was focused on the biochemical and functional characterization of the protein cytidine triphosphate synthase (TgCTP) from the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. I have experience in cell culture of mammalian cells and genetic manipulation techniques such as, generation of knockout, knockdown, knock-in, conditional knockout and Cre-mediated conditional knockout of genes. I have also extensive experience in the production of recombinant proteins, purification of membrane and soluble proteins, targeting of proteins, fluorescence microscopy and immunofluorescence assays.
