Mit meiner Firma Flying Pangolin Film produziere ich hochwertige Naturdokumentationen für das öffentlich-rechtliche Fernsehen in Deutschland sowie ausländische Sendeanstalten. Zu unserem Kunden gehören NDR Naturfilm/Doclights, ORF und WDR. Als selbstständige Autorin und Regisseurin arbeite ich außerdem mit namhaften Produktionsfirmen an Naturfilmen und Beiträgen für Wissenschaftsmagazine z.B. W wie Wissen (WDR).

Responsible for almost every work in a production company: - organsing shootings (being also responsible to stay in line with the budget): contact to researchers, tour operators etc; booking flights, accomodation etc.; getting all the permits- doing all the research, e.g. contacting scientists, looking for new topics- writing treatments and exposés- spending hours, days, weeks in a dark editing room to work on our documentaries- doing camera assistance at shootings in Africa and filming on my own for the making-of- being the contact person for the Producers and Editors of the TV stations or huge production companies, especially NDR Naturfilm / Studio Hamburg DocLights- being the link between the "Boss" and our writers, cameramen/-women- representing our documentaries at different Wildlife Film Festivals all around the world- "normal" office work: writing invoices, offers...

As a VJ I did everything myself, a typical day looked like this:8:15 am: looking through newspapers and news agencies for topics related to Munich or Bavaria9:00 am: offical start of working time with a conference where I have to explain my topic, if accepted - fine, if not: keep on looking or take the topic the chief editor offered (worst case)9:15 am: phone call after phone call to find interview partners, first trying the mobile phones of the different press officers or politicians I had in my phone)10 am (if its a good day, otherwise 11, or 11:30 am): trying to get camera equipment and a car from the "Dispo"10:10 am: after checking the equipment rushing of, best case being able to do some filming before the interview to have enough footage (not being dependent on the archive) 12:30 am: meeting the interview partner, short instructions, some shots of the protagonists, then positioning the camera and interview partner, double check if camera is recording, stepping to one side, aiming the microphone to the Interview partner, asking my questions always keeping an eye on the camera if the person is still in focus01:00 pm: hurrying back to the TV station01:30 pm: arriving at TV station, quickly starting the material download, having a short break and trying to find out if I have to a 2, 2:30 or 3:00 minutes news clip02:00 pm: editing myself and writing the text 4:30 pm: asking the chief editor to have a look at the clip04:45 pm: still waiting for the chief editor05:05 pm: showing the clip to the chief editor, hopefully getting approval to send it05:15 pm: rushing into the sound studio to do the narration recording05:25 pm: editing the clip including the narrations05:40 pm: sending the clip to the excutive producer 06:00 pm: start of the News "Muenchen heute" (Munich today)
