Part of the Actuarial team that supports the pricing and portfolio management functions through technical and analytical actuarial skills.• Established framework for generating regular monitoring reports. • Built a cashflow model using data to project forwards various metrics (such as size of book, expected premium, expected claims, projected loss ratios etc.) which served as in input to the company’s overall budget model for the next 5 financial years as determined by EXCO.• Provide support to the call center by tending to actuarial queries which include underwriting approval (often working together with the underwriting manager and risk surveyor), approval of risks that trigger referral limits, premium prejudice queries for the claims department and any premium calculation errors or premium related queries.• Was very involved in the product development and launch of Momentum’s “Safety Score” questionnaire and was the custodian of said questionnaire.• Secretary of the Underwriting Review Committee where new proposals or changes to current processes in how we underwrite are discussed – duties involved setting up and distributing the agenda (and ensuring requests for agenda points are relevant to the committee’s purpose); taking minutes and distributing these to EXCO including the CEO and all other relevant and interested parties; keeping track/record of everything discussed, decisions made and tracking the progress thereof.• Developed new rules for the multi-claimant process on personal lines and monitoring the impact of cancelling perceived bad risks on the overall loss ratio of the book.• Maintain and implement improvements/new developments to the Claims PFP (Pay for Performance) model.
