Our LocationsGalleri Heike Arndt DK is originally a Danish gallery, placed in Kettinge on Lolland in Denmark since 1989. In 2008, the gallery expanded to Friedrichshain in old East Berlin.FocusGalleri Heike Arndt DK encourages a dynamic dialogue between the Nordic art scene and the art scene in Berlin, often in collaboration with other galleries, museums, and cultural institutions. Nordic artists and German-based artists are offered the opportunity to exhibit their artwork together, reach out to a different audience and connect with colleagues through cross-cultural projects. Galleri Heike Arndt DK is defined as ”Klein aber Fein” and focuses on displaying contemporary art such as paintings, sculptures, drawings, graphic prints and new media. In the growing graphic department, there is a permanent selection available with more than 400 pieces of Scandinavian and German prints. The gallery also offers different kinds of activities, events, and projects.The social focus is taken with the monthly event Scandinavian meeting point Berlin, the meetup for all interested in Art or they scandinavian way of socializing, and of course the open call exhibition where everybody is welcome to join.Business ModelGalleri Heike Arndt DK is based on a non-profit business model, which ensures that the art selection is based on artistic criteria, as opposed to financial or commercial motives. We consider this strategy a strength, as well as a way to distinguish ourselves from more commercial galleries. The backgroundThe gallery was established by the Danish/German artist and cosmopolite Heike Arndt. Her numerous longer stays around the world (Greenland, Africa, South America, China; the U.S. etc.) have all contributed to her passion for using art as a tool for creating intercultural meetings. Galleri Heike Arndt DK draws on a strong artistic and human insight and a great practical experience working in the art field, both nationally and internationally.
