The main turning point in my life that made me decide on pursuing a career in computer engineering was the digital logic course I took in my junior year of high school. I had taken other Project Lead the Way courses prior to this as I always knew I wanted to be some form of engineer, but that class solidified my decision. Prior to this though, I have always wondered how video game consoles actually play games, which started me down this path. When it came time to decide on a college, I have some extended family members who went to the Milwaukee School of Engineering who highly recommended that I apply, and the rest is history.Throughout my education, my favorite courses have been the required embedded systems classes which taught ARM assembly, embedded C programming, and some VHDL peripheral design. I also have taken a Memory and I/O systems elective which provided a high-level overview of topics such as caching and virtual memory. Most recently though, I am currently enrolled in an Embedded Systems Fabrication course which covers the basics of using EDA tools and CAD tools to design custom circuit boards and enclosures for said boards.
